Choosing nuts as a protein source?
Let me share a simple thought.
If a child is preparing for IIT, we usually choose PCM.
If the goal is medical, we go with PCB.
Now, if we add Economics as a fourth subject
it’s a good subject, no doubt,
but it may not be needed for that specific goal.
Food works the same way.
Just because something is healthy
doesn’t always mean it fits everyone’s body goal.
Nuts are nutrient-dense,
but they are also calorie-dense.
For example, per 100 grams:
• Almonds: ~21 g protein, ~50 g fat, ~22 g carbs
• Cashews (kaju): ~18 g protein, ~44 g fat, ~30 g carbs
• Peanuts: ~25 g protein, ~49 g fat, ~16 g carbs
So yes, nuts do provide protein and nutrients,
but they also bring a lot of calories from other macros.
That’s why nuts work best:
1. In controlled portions
2. When calories are planned
3. When they suit your body goal
No food is bad.
